I count myself a chance to live in the north of England, one of the most interesting and beautiful regions of the United Kingdom. A region rich in history, a place of castles, countryside and coastline, which is flooded with myths and legends of the past.
, In another article, you told the story of the famous red worm. Outrageous that the animal’s tail wounded ten times to Penshaw Hill and emerged as Penshaw Monument. Now I would like you to your car in Penshaw leave street in the north and through the landscape of Northumberland, to the Scottish border. It takes a good two hours to the small colony of Linton. You can find him on the B6436 six miles south of Kelso.
Near the village you will find Linton Hill with the waters of Kale, in the vicinity flows. In this quiet area in a cave at the northern side of the hill, he lives after a worm or Wörme, (Wörme an old Scandinavian snake). The region is also known under the name "Worm’s Den." Then in the twilight, the dragon can kill’s Lair and the cattle to eat local and something else, it came through.

Despite fear of the dreaded animal some local men tried to kill him, but their weapons are not effective against armored hide. Without disability, by the men of the Mind efforts of animal waste in the countryside and not only to stop their resources déchaînés.
None is on a visit to nearby Jedburgh, the Laird, John Somerville heard this horrible worm. Linton of the way he observed the creature to be. He remarked that if someone came in the vicinity of cities by the creature, which they with their mouths wide open. This gave her an idea, and it has the local blacksmith, a lance. The weapon was much longer than normal start and had a wheel mounted influence of drugs at the end of the business. Laird on the bike has a tar content of hardened ball of peat and to fire the ball, and loads it comes to his horse by smoke and flames.
Finally, if he was satisfied, he rolled into the worm. As he came near the worm has his mouth and he suggested the blazing start his throat. The the Creature death struggle so twisted, and that writhing in the last trains and it is said that this caused waves in the hills outside the cave. Finally, the creature is fatally injured, was on his cave and the roof collapsed burying it (ideally) without trace below the hill.
That the worm (or dragon) are they? Or is it just one of many myths that have survived in the British Isles? If he did or not, it is in recognition of his bravery by John Somerville been knighted, has a Royal Falconer and became the first Baron Lintoune.
Dragon or not, and Linton Linton Hill, there are and when you have your way. Here are the directions Penshaw. Follow the A19 to the north by the Tyne Tunnel and continue on the A19, what is the connection A1. Take the A1 motorway in the direction of north. Morpeth just turn left on A697 in the direction of Wooler and Coldstream. Shortly after Wooler in Akeld turn left onto the B6531. Follow this until he joined the B6352 and B6352 follow in the city Yetholm. Thence into the B6401 and then shortly before Morebattle, turn right onto the B5436 for Linton.
You can not see when you reach a dragon, but you appreciate a trip through some of the most beautiful northern landscape. Take a look at Linton Kirk (church), while you’re there and you see above the door portal, which Somervail Stone. It is a sculpture, a knight in the fight against two of the animals that connect to Linton Worm.
