The Asus Eee PC 1201N is not just a netbook. It is probably the only netbook market with Atom 330 dual core processor Nvidia ION and. The dual core Atom 330 is a desktop processor. It is much more powerful than the Atom processors simple heart N270/N280 found in most netbooks. It is the 1201N offer better performance than other ION-powered netbooks on the market? Design and build quality

Asus laptops have the dubious distinction of being fingerprint magnet fingerprints. The Eee PC 1201N is no different. It has a glossy plastic exterior that is very sensitive to the collection of fingerprints. The Asus Eee 1201N PC measures 1.3 inches thick and weighs about 3.1 pounds. The device is available in black and silver. The design is attractive and the build quality is satisfactory.

Ports and Slots

Port selection is satisfactory. There are 3 USB ports, an SD card reader, VGA, 0.3 mega pixel webcam, headset and microphone. There's also an HDMI port to transfer video to an external monitor. connectivity options available include 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi Bluetooth and Ethernet.

Battery

The 1201N has a 6-cell battery 5200mAh rated battery. Claims product page that the battery for 8 hours. But in reality you can not get more than 5 hours.

Keyboard and touchpad

The keyboard is large and comfortable to type on. It comes with two quarters and two full size full size arrow keys. The touchpad supports multi-touch gestures. Sensitivity is good.

Performance

Many netbooks ION-fed are now available on the market, but not all of them have a dual core processor. The force of 1201N is in fact its dual core Atom processor. Performance is quite good. In benchmark tests, the 1201N is better than the competition Lenovo netbooks, HP and Samsung. The Atom 330 and Nvidia ION combination is powerful enough to decode 1080p video with Flash Adobe Flash Player 10.1 beta with accelerated GPU. What about the game? Well, it is also possible. You will be able to play several games graphics rich like Call of Duty 4, torches and Street Fighter IV demo. Retouching Photos in Photoshop CS4 is also very possible.

Heat and noise

The 1201N is a silent laptop. You will not be able to hear the fan in normal use. But the notebook tends to heat up while running intensive tasks GPU. But this is nothing unusual.
