Creating your own PC is as easy as 1,2,3

Many people simply go to the retail store and sells when it comes hardware. You'd be very surprised how easily you can get all the basic components and you assemble or get a friend or family member in the know do for you. Processor:

Intel and AMD are the main players when it comes to processors, Intel offers the Pentium or Celeron chip while AMD have their range such as the AMD Athlon and Sempron. While both companies have their advantages as they are Intel's best-selling worldwide, but AMD seems to have the faster processing capabilities. When you look at the processors think sensibly and ask yourself do you really need the latest and greatest, or if you notice the difference between two points a 3GHz processor, for example from 2.8 GHz.

Remember to reduce the cost, basic components such as the PC case comes in a number of different styles such as mini-tower desktop. Choose what suits you. RAM (memory) depend on what you plan to do some games and simulators require large amounts of memory so check before you buy, and the graphics card will also depend on your PC plans. If you are generally using the PC for Internet browsing at home and do not forget to buy a modem or if you are planning with broadband the installer and get yourself on the waiting list.

Building the PC

Building a PC is not as difficult as it sounds. If you have not tried to do before it's a good idea to have supervision. Some components such as memory should be handled carefully due to static electricity. Get a static wrist strap to protect the components, they cost very little and could save you a lot money. There are many cheap books on hand to guide you through the assembly, but you'll also find articles with free online charts assembly.

Software:

Hardware is one thing, but you also need software such as operating system and software anti-virus protection against viruses. Depending on what you want and what you are accustomed to use before you can obtain free operating system like Linux. Most of us are accustomed to Microsoft Windows, but you'll need a license to use this software. You may also need some office software like Microsoft Office XP or 2003 Standard or Professional. The anti-virus software is essential and Norton or McAfee are some of the best known brands. There are also free downloads that will help protect your PC such as Stinger and Ad-Ware.

In brief:

Building your own PC gives you the flexibility that most manufacturers are not. The price is considerably reduced if you can assemble yourself and it will give you a good overview of all components and key terms of computing. You will be surprised to see that all is not as technical as first seems.

Some quick notes: Do not forget the following: Modem - Make sure you also have enough USB ports for external devices such as printers or a digital camera. Always backup your files up to any such external chance you have a problem with the hard drive and your files are not transferable something like a usb keyring would be ideal.
